What this is

APC Draft is a helper for chartered surveying candidates writing their own APC submission. It counts the words you type, compares your dates, hours and totals with published limits summarised in its own words, and prints your drafts. It is not an official template, it writes no text, and it does not decide whether any statement, example or case study is acceptable. APC Draft does not judge your competence or predict a result; the assessors decide. It gives no legal or career advice.

Official requirements

Professional bodies change their guides, limits and rules. Where anything here disagrees with the current candidate guide, pathway guide or template, those govern. The official count is made in Microsoft Word; our count may differ by a few words, so check the final count in Word. You are responsible for what you submit, and for making sure it describes your own work in your own words. APC Draft is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or any other professional body.

Your records

Anything the site remembers is stored by your own browser on your own device. It can be cleared by you at any time, cannot be recovered by us, and does not follow you to another device. Keep backups.

What is free

The case study workspace, both word counters, the mandatory competency statements, every guide and a plain backup of your own work are free to use with no account and stay that way. When billing is enabled, a paid tier sits on top of that and adds conveniences. Nothing that checks your work, or that gets your own records out, is moved behind a payment.

Refunds

Not happy with a purchase? Email socialreminderinfo@gmail.com within 14 days of a first purchase, or within 7 days of a renewal, and we will refund it. Send the message from the email address you used at checkout, and include:

• the email address used at checkout (if you are writing from a different address)
• your access code, shown on the Premium page on the browser you purchased from
• roughly when you purchased, and which plan (yearly or lifetime)
• the last 4 digits of the card, if you have the receipt handy

That is everything needed to find the purchase and process the refund. This policy does not limit any statutory rights you may have.

Acceptable use

Use the site to count and check your own submission. Do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, and do not present its output as an official document or as an assessment decision.

Warranty and liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, APC Draft is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site or from reliance on anything on it, including an assessment that does not go the way you hoped. A result here is a calculation on the words, dates and hours you entered, not advice about your readiness.
